TANKS |
|
| |
The symbol of 20th centurywarfare, the Main Battle Tank had gone out of favour with the former
'Superpowers'. However, in the past 20 years smaller nations have pursued
actively building mobile, versatile armies with both MBTs and light
tanks. For a successful military offensive campaign, strong armored
divisions are essential. |

INFANTRY |
|
| |
At the core of any military force is the infantry.
Infantry units are relatively quick and inexpensive to develop, though limited
mobility and difficulty in working in clear terrain are drawbacks.
Modern infantry units often including motorized or armored transport. |

|
RECONNAISSANCE VEHICLES |
|
| |
A much more mobile,
transportable force than Main Battle Tanks or infantry. Light Tanks and
Recon Units can take territory quickly and move forward with little notice,
scouting terrain and engaging infantry. Not a match for a heavy tank
force or anti-tank units. |

|
ARTILLERY |
|
| |
The ability to engage the enemy without being in danger is the dream of every
soldier. Artillery has always offered commanders a taste of that
dream. Well place artillery can make a region impregnable or at least
terribly expensive to take. |

 |
|
ANTI-TANK |
|
| |
Anti-Tank battalions and
non-mobile fortifications are ideal defensive units. But beware a
quick, massed attack that could make the lack of mobility of these units a
major drawback. |

ANTI-AIRCRAFT AND SURFACE-TO-AIR |
|
| |
As Air Forces grow, there is a constant need for air defense. The types of
anti air are quite varied from wheeled missile launchers, to tracked AA guns or
even shoulder mounted launchers. A number of the units can also, in last
chance situations or in self-defense, attack ground
targets. |

|
|
|
| |
 |
|
FIGHTER - INTERCEPTORS |
|
| |
With constant fear of
attack from above, all nations have invested heavily in these fighters.
As always, a good defense is a strong offense. The modern day dog fight
is enhanced by newer electronics and better training. |

STRIKE AND ATTACK FIGHTERS |
|
| |
At the
dawn of the 21st century, numerous countries had attack fighters at various
stages of development. The world now finds that, what was to be tested
for tomorrow will be needed today. Many aircraft have had their final
stages of development shortened or dropped as regional powers assemble what air
force they can. |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
STRATEGIC BOMBERS |
|
| |
Capable of delivering
devastating salvos from incredible heights, these planes have little direct
aerial attack capabilities. Whether carrying conventional weapons or
weapons of mass destruction, these aircraft can alter the landscape and cripple
a nation if not defended against. |

LAND TRANSPORT |
|
| |
Many
powerful pieces of military equipment are too slow to reach from one conflict to
another and must be transported. As a region expands, it also becomes
necessary to move troops quickly and efficiently between territories. |

ASSAULT AND COMBAT HELICOPTERS |
|
| |
Considered by many to be
the Queens of the Battlefield after their successful use by the United States
in Vietnam, many wonder if these airborne assault platforms will become the
ultimate mobile border for pushing a conflict back on an aggressor. |

FRIGATES AND CORVETTES |
|
| |
Modern
Destroyers and Frigates are now armed with advanced reconnaissance and
targeting technologies, as well as sophisticated weapons such as guided
missiles. |

CRUISERS, DESTROYERS AND BATTLESHIPS |
|
| |
Although Battleships of
the past dominated the seas with their main guns, can they maintain their
threat level in the face of far reaching aircraft carriers or even Guided
Missile Cruisers? |

|
AIRCRAFT CARRIERS |
|
| |
Aircraft
Carriers are used to extend force and influence far beyond a region's home
territories. Combined with air squadrons and other naval forces, a
Carrier Group is a serious threat in any theater of operations. |

SUBMARINES |
|
| |
Submarines can fulfill many
roles, including the disruption of shipping and also the threat of ballistic
missiles. |
